Chapter 13: Flowers for Olivier
Chapter 13: Flowers for Olivier
By the time Fleur exited The Stunning Club, Olivier's Land Cruiser had already left.
The lights at the entrance shone in dazzling colours, contrasting with the already cold September
weather. Fleur was only clad in a single-layer black dress, looking pristine and indescribably seductive
in the night.
Her beauty was absolutely flawless.
She went to the parking lot after a while, heading straight for a parked Ferrari. Upon opening the door,
the acrid stench of smoke wafted out. Without hesitation, Fleur grabbed the cigarette from Odette's
hand and flicked it into a nearby trash bin.
"..."
Odette still posed as if about to take a swig of smoke. She narrowed her eyes at Fleur and said, "First Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
you offended Olivier, and now you offended me. Do you think you can stay here in Y City if you keep
this up?"
"If I want to stay in this city, no one's getting in my way, not even the Governor."
"...How are you so arrogant? You've never mentioned any big leagues covering your back."
Fleur closed her eyes and leaned back in her seat, not answering Odette. Even in her deep silence, her
beauty remained.
Odette stared at her with a faint smile. "I'm getting more curious about you as time goes by. I've never
met a woman as bold as you. First approaching Olivier through me, then that scene you made tonight,
looks like you really do like him."
"He's the eldest son of the Martinez family: rich, influential, and sexy. Who wouldn't like him?"
"So you making a scene in public was an act of seduction?"
Fleur opened her eyes but said nothing.
"Or was that not your original plan? Did you just get jealous when you saw him holding Virginie Lopez
so close and lost it?"
Fleur stayed silent, eyes looking ahead into the club's colourful lights.
"What's your motive here, to have Olivier all to yourself, or just for him to not have Virginie by his side?"
Fleur's hostility towards Virginie had never been more apparent.
After a while, Fleur began, "Having him to myself, and not allowing them to be together, are actually the
same thing."
"But how are you going to deal with Virginie? Everyone knows Olivier is head over heels for her. Once,
he even sent a private jet to her while she was in the country just to give her a steak dinner? It was the
talk of the city for months on end, how much Olivier spoiled and indulged Virginie."
Fleur had heard that from Camille earlier.
"Fleur Leroy, you can make a fuss, or pretend to be jealous, but you will not disrespect me."
Her chin throbbed with a numb, fuzzy pain.
"You're not special, understand? I could find any woman to do this in your place, and they would be
more than happy to for a family like mine. If that happens, there won't be any place for you in this city
anymore."
That was what Olivier had said afterwards.
Who still believed in fortune-tellers at this age? And to think, it was the Martinez family who did, a
family as proud and influential as theirs...
If word got out, they would be the city's laughing stock.
Hence, to keep it a secret, Fleur as his 'ex-wife' would naturally have to be 'silenced', most likely being
banished from Y City and never to return.
Odette started the Ferrari and left the parking lot as Fleur remained in deep thought. Halfway on the
road, they happened upon a flower shop. "Stop here," Fleur said.
Odette stopped the car.
Fleur entered the shop and came out with a flower bouquet a minute later. They were deep red roses
that matched her tattoo.
"What are you up to...?"
Fleur picked a flower petal, delicate and beautiful, drops of water still clinging onto it. She smiled
coquettishly at Odette, her feminity shining through her demeanour, strong enough to cut glass.
She was gorgeous.
"I'm going to cajole Olivier."
"..."
Odette sneered. "What's with all these tricks of yours? Why not just find a way to get him drunk again
and then deal with him?"
"How can you be so sure things will end up with sex if that happens?"
"Oh, I'm sure." Odette idly tapped on the steering wheel with her well-manicured nails. "He's allergic to
alcohol, but unlike other people, he can't hold his drink past half a glass of wine. After getting drunk, if
he continues drinking he won't get those disgusting hives people usually get, instead his body goes into
shock from the alcohol."
"...How do you know all this?"
"Back then when I was still quite the celebrity, I wanted to sleep with him, but he thwarted many of my
attempts."
After a long pause, Fleur said, "...So you held a gun to his head and forced him to drink?"
"Of course I did. Who else did you think could have the guts to do that?"
