CHAPTER 8
She quickly turned around and ran to the bathroom. While getting dressed, she was still crying.
She still couldn’t believe that Red’s own brother was her client.
With his looks and his status, why does he have to pay for a woman to dance and seduce him when in fact he can easily find a woman to do that without having to pay?
She was also sure that a lot of women would have been chasing him already even he was not doing anything.
She couldn’t help but worry because her client, Red’s brother, might tell Red about her job. She wasn’t proud of her job and she didn’t want to lose Red’s respect for her once he finds out that she was a sexy dancer and to make it worst, she was a private dancer of Red’s only brother.
Her mind was so confused.
She was wearing a jacket and denim pants again when she came out of the bathroom. She saw that Red’s brother was still sitting and he was carrying a glass of wine, sipping it. There was also a vacant chair in front of him.
She reluctantly approached the man. She bowed down her head because she could not meet his gaze especially since he no longer had a masquerade mask.
She no longer waited for his offer to sit down. She immediately sat down in the chair in front of the man and only then did she notice that he was holding a newspaper.
He spoke when she was fully seated.
“As I’ve said last night, end your relationship with my brother, that’s the first thing you should do. Second, you will still work for me but… something will change in our deal. And of course, you’ll get higher pay because of that change,” he said it like she had no other choice but to say yes.
Suddenly her heart revolted. She looked at his stern face.
“I’ll do the first one. I’ll break up with Red but you can’t force me on your second condition,” she said confidently even though she didn’t know where she would look for another job that could give her the same payment. She badly needs the money for her mother’s treatment. She doesn’t know where to get that if she will stop being his private dancer.
He just smiled at her answer as if he was sure that wouldn’t happen. He threw the newspaper he was holding on her lap.
“Read that and then you can decide,” he said coldly then drank again from the glass he was holding.
She picked up the newspaper.
It was a local newspaper in Olongapo, their hometown.
She frowned especially when she saw her mother’s face on the front page. She immediately read it. She was suddenly nervous when she read that her mother had a warrant of arrest.
There were witnesses when they hurriedly left their home in Olongapo that night when her mother stabbed her stepfather. Those people saw her mother’s bloody clothes and hands.
She also found out that her stepfather became bedridden because of what her mother did to him. The man’s relatives worked out a way to file charges against her mother.
She swallowed hard. She saw the date in the newspaper and it was just this year.
“What’s your decision again?” Red’s brother asked her when he saw that she had taken her eyes off the newspaper.
“W-why are you doing this to me? As I said, I’m going to end my relationship with Red. I’m going to stop working for you so that I can disappear from your lives forever,” she said softly just staring at the newspaper on her lap.
“I was not the one who filed the case against your Mom. I just want to let you know because your mother can be arrested anytime when someone reports to the police. I will not be the one who will report to the police though. Instead, I’m going to offer you my help. What if I can solve that in one snap? Money can buy anything. I’ll have to negotiate with the victim’s family or I can use my connections to completely remove your mother’s record,” he said. He never took his gaze away from her.
She bravely met his gaze.
“W-what can be added to my work other than dancing?” even though she had an idea what it was she still asked.
He placed the glass he was holding on the table next to him then brought his face close to hers while holding her hair.
“Your body will be mine. You will let me do anything with it. Don’t worry, it will only be good for five months. After five months, you’ll be free as a bird,” he seemed to just whisper.
She could feel his hot breath on her face.
Five months? Then she remembered what Red had said, that his brother’s former fiancee would return to the Philippines after five months from London.
“W-why do you have to pay to g-get a woman? I don’t think you will have a hard time finding someone who wants to be with you,” she couldn’t help but ask.
He smiled as if amused by her question.
“Really? Why do you think I won’t have a hard time?” He even touched her chin so she could look into his eyes again.
She swallowed a lump in her throat because it was as if those beautiful eyes were hypnotizing her again. In fact, the man’s handsomeness was much different than Red’s.
“Will you stay with me even if I don’t pay you?” His face became serious.
She felt that he was looking down on her. She can’t blame him because she almost threw her body and soul in exchange for money.
She removed his hand from her chin and bowed down again.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
“I-I’ll consider your offer,” was her only reply.
“Well, you better decide right away before anyone reads that news and can report about your mother. It will be difficult for us if she is already in jail,” he reminded.
She was even more nervous about what she heard from him. She looked at her mother’s face in the newspaper again. Suddenly her tears flowed and dripped on the newspaper she was holding. She could not imagine her mother in jail, especially in her current condition.
“Crying won’t help you at all. Besides, with the kind of work you do, giving up your body shouldn’t be new to you. By the way, to be safe too, I’ll schedule you for a check-up to make sure that you’re clean. I hope you don’t mind that, “he didn’t seem sincere in his last words.
She felt even smaller even though she knew she was clean because no man had ever touched her body, only him tonight when he was touching her neck down to the center of her breasts.
She didn’t say that anymore because she knew he wouldn’t believe her.
“And one more thing, I hate questions. I don’t like being asked about my personal life. All you need to do is do your job. I will wait for your answer the next day. You don’t have to come here tomorrow. I want you to think hard, “he added.
She quietly wiped the tears from her eyes. Red’s brother didn’t say anything anymore when he stood up and turned his back on her.
“The taxi is waiting downstairs,” he said then left her there.
