Pierce frowned. "Mom..."
"Just use your car, Pierce."
Before Pierce could even say anything again, I grabbed his arm and looked at Snow. "Pumpkin, mommy and daddy will ride in a separate car."
"It's okay, mommy!" Snow looked very energetic.
I just shook my head and closed the car's door before I looked at Pierce whose lips are parted. He was staring down at me so I chuckled and shook my head again. "You see what they're doing? They're framing us up.
He scratched the back of his head and smirked. "You're right..."
I walked towards his car that was parked at the garage. I sat on the passenger seat and watched the car
in front of us leave. Pierce entered the driver seat and turned the engine on.
I looked at him. He was just wearing cargo shorts, rubber shoes and black t-shirt. He was wearing sunglasses as he sat handsomely on the driver seat. "You want music?"
"It's fine."
He smiled and turned the radio on. He started driving while humming to the song. We're just following the car in front of us and while staring at it, I couldn't help but think about how my friends and my own daughter betrayed me. A Forly Vacation
"What are you thinking? Pierce asked after he saw me shaking my head.
I chuckled. "I just couldn't believe how our daughter betrayed us-
My own words disappeared in the air as I realized what I said. Pierce glanced at me and even his eyes: were showing happiness, I could still see confusion in it.
I cleared my throat. "Uhm. I mean... Snow treats you as her own father."
He clenched his jaws and nodded before he gave me a smile but I know it was a forced one. He's starting to doubt my actions and how I address him as Snow's father. Twice. He cleared his throat. "How's Klay Carver? Is he...still bothering you?"
I bit my bottom lip and shook my head. "He's not contacting me anymore. After the fire incident, he didn't contact me again."
I saw how his eyes sharpened. "Do you think he was the one behind the fire incident?"
"I don't know. I. blamed him but he fiercely denied that he did it."
"I can help you, Kelly. Only if you allow me to do so..."
"You don't need to." I shook my head and sighed. "I already have someone investigating everything.
"Just...tell me if you still need something."
I just nodded. The atmosphere has be e awkward so I just squeezed my eyes closed and decided to sleep. Pierce just woke me up when we reached our destination.
I was in awe after I saw the place. The view is breathtaking.
Amazed, I got out of the car and watched the scenery in front of me. The road was elevated and from where I'm standing, I can see the breathtaking view of the sea and even the whole resort. Pierce stood beside me. "You like it?"
I glanced at him and smiled as I nodded. "Yes. It's breathtaking."© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
"Let's go. They're already inside."
"Okay."
"I'll carry our bags."
I followed Pierce and closed the door of the backseat after he got our bags. I led the way to the stairs down the resort. I couldn't help but admire the beauty of nature until I spotted Emily standing in front of the resort's hotel, talking to someone over the phone. "Why are you being so sentimental over a one night stand, Matt? Why don't you just thank me for giving you such an amazing experience? And please, if you want to sleep with me again, just tell me straight. No need to go dramatic."
I grimaced and walked past her. Emily felt my presence and she looked at me, smirking. I just shook my head.
"Too much information, Em," I heard Pierce say and walked past Emily.
"Just work on your courting techniques, Anderson. I think your tactics are too old fashioned, that's why It's not working."
I looked at them. Pierce stopped walking and glared at Emily who's smirking triumphantly as she put her

Emlaughed and walked towards me. She wrapped her arm around my arm and dragged me inside the hotel as she whispered. "The hotel is nice, huh? It's a perfect place for all night sex."
My cheeks immediately burned in embarrassment not because she's too vulgar but because she said it while Pierce was walking beside me and I saw how he stiffened and slowly looked our way.
I swallowed hard and pinched Emily's side. She just giggled and looked at us. "Unfortunately, your mother-in-law reserved one room for you two."
"Huh?" My eyeballs almost popped out. "One room?"
She winked at me and bit her forefinger. "The hotel is fully booked, by the way. Goodluck!"
My lips parted as I watched Emily walk away. When I looked at Pierce, he was staring at my face intently, making me even more embarrassed and awkward. Gambling On You...Again
