Being Proposed to By a Blind CEO

Official Introductions

After a long time without meeting and during that time it turns out that each of the two people missed each other in silence, is that called love?

.

Gifer and Belvina sat on an elongated chair under a mango tree whose dry leaves fell in the wind. The two of them were talking to each other without remembering that they didn’t know each other officially and even hated each other. But suddenly circumstances had changed them.

“From the moment we met, I don’t think I’ve met you yet. Let me introduce you, my name is Belvina. Just call me Vina,” Belvina extended her right hand towards Gifer. Knowing his carelessness, Belvina immediately tapped his forehead using her left hand.

‘Duh, he can’t see, why did I even invite him to shake hands anyway, what an idiot!’ Belvina thought. But unexpectedly, Gifer accepted the handshake. The man smiled and didn’t say anything.

“Why? Ah, I mean why didn’t you say your name?” Belvina protested, because Gifer didn’t say his name.

“Is that necessary? You already know my name, so why should I introduce myself again?” she asked innocently.

“Aish, we just got acquainted directly or officially. Not through the hate-hate route,” Belvina’s words instantly made Gifer’s heart melt.

“Yes. My name is Gifer Fernandez, just call me Gifer, as usual you call my name,”

“Ah, I thought you couldn’t realize my helping hand, sorry,” Belvina felt guilty because she thought that Gifer would not accept her helping hand, but the opposite happened.

“Yeah, it’s no problem. I’m getting the hang of it because my best friend taught me,”

“Really?”

“Yes, she’s very good to me, even though I’m blind but she’s always there for me,”

“Ah, it must be nice to have a best friend who can understand our situation. I’m just like you, too. Having a best friend who can understand well,” Belvina and Gifer let go of each other’s hands.

“Yeah, sure.

“What is your purpose in following me here? What did you want to talk to me about?” asked Gifer to Belvina who was already frowning.

The girl sighed, facing someone like Gifer. Very different from Indonesian men in general, he seemed to easily accuse people he just met. It was a culture shock that made Belvina shake her head repeatedly in surprise.

“How confident you are, my best friend and I went to Jakarta to look for a job, after working, we intended to take a vacation, and it happened to be a holiday today, so I just wanted to go to Kendal to invite my best friend for a trip,” explained Belvina.

“Yes, who knows if you are a stalker, want to know my house, and then become a thief, no one knows,” Gifer accused, Belvina had to be extra patient and relax in explaining to the man in front of her.

“Iss, your mind is really negative, clean it first with warm water, take a shower. When I’m stalking you, what’s the benefit? Even if there is, I also don’t want to take care of other people’s business, it’s not really important.”

“Have you said it yet?”

“Already, why?”

“Let’s go get some snacks, I’m hungry,” Gifer invited while trying to grab Belvina’s hand and take her by the hand. Belvina’s face was already red like a boiled crab because she was invited by a handsome man to buy snacks.

Belvina was a little surprised because of the change in Gifer’s attitude from cool and accusatory to warm and gentle. As if it changed 180 degrees, he immediately trusted and seemed to have known him for a long time, even though it was only a few minutes ago that they were officially introduced.

“Come on, do you know the best snacks around here?”

“I know, near Panti Falah there are many, later we will try to go there,”NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

“Alright, do you know the route to Panti Falah?”

“When I could still see, I did, but not now, maybe we can ask someone on the bus,” he replied lightly. Instantly Belvina widened her eyes. She forgot that her bag and wallet were with Anggi.

“Gifer, sorry, I didn’t bring my bag and wallet.”

“Just use mine, relax,”

“Is that okay?”

“Relax, it’s no problem, after all, I’m the one who invited you,” Belvina felt guilty to Gifer, she kept looking at the face of the man with brown skin that leads to white with thin cheeks.

Not waiting for a long time they both started to ride the bus, while on the bus, Belvina contacted Anggi using the chat feature on her smart phone. Gifer just faced forward, as if he didn’t care about what the girl was doing. Because he felt silent, Gifer took the initiative to open the conversation.

“Ekhm, if I may know, which city are you from? Why are you looking for a job in Jakarta instead of your hometown?” Gifer asked curiously. Belvina who heard Gifer trying to talk to her immediately put her cell phone in her pants pocket.

“I’m from Kendal too, in Kaliwungu city. And my best friend is from Pati. In the past, my best friend and I only intended to take a vacation to Jakarta, but if it was just a vacation, we could only spend money, so we decided to look for work, after all we already brought our diplomas and everything else. We deliberately prepared it because who knows in Jakarta our fate will be able to become successful rather than just staying in our hometown.

“Ah, so that’s the story,”

“Yeah, oh yeah, where were you going? I was approaching you because I saw you on the side of the road and I thought you were going to cross, I took the initiative to help you. Eh but it didn’t happen, hehe,” Belvina explained to Gifer so that there would be no misunderstanding between the two of them.

“Yes, I just wanted to take a walk to get some fresh air. Actually, this Kendal city is my hometown, I also just came from Jakarta, my house is also close to Panti Falah.

“Ah I see, don’t endanger yourself again like earlier, if you want to cross, I suggest asking for help from other pedestrians around you, don’t just jump in, it’s dangerous, you know!” warned Belvina who had panicked earlier.

“I see. Thank you for the advice,”

“You’re welcome, oh yeah, we don’t need to ask where the Falah center is because I’ve installed google maps and there’s still a bus stop there,” said Belvina with a smile on her lips.

“You’re moving fast. You must be doing very well when you’re working. If I were still the CEO, maybe I could make you my personal secretary,” a smile etched on Gifer’s thick lips.

“What?” of course Belvina was surprised by what this man had just said. ‘Personal secretary he said? Ah, I’m so touched.’ She said to herself with a very cheerful face and a happy feeling.

“Ah, no. Don’t think too much about what I said earlier, hehe. I’ll never go back to being the CEO,” Gifer tried to evade while scratching the nape of his neck which wasn’t itchy to reduce his awkwardness towards Belvina.

“Why? Isn’t that a definite job?” Belvina asked curiously.

“The owner of the company wasn’t sincere about giving me his company, there were always strings attached or reciprocity that I had to fulfill for it. And once he no longer needed me, everything was taken back. It’s as if I’m being played as merchandise,” Gifer explained.

“I understand that. But, you can build your own business and become the CEO of your own company again if you have the ability,”

“But my ability is what can only be done for people who are not blind, for people who can see, Vina. As for me, I can’t see anymore, that’s impossible.”

“Nothing is impossible in this world if we believe that we can do it, cheer up! Whatever you do, I will support you,” Gifer immediately faced the direction of Belvina’s voice with a smile.

“Thank you.”
