“Hey?. What are you thinking about?”James’ voice rang behind her.

She turned to him swiftly and shook her head.

“Come down for breakfast when you’re done.”he smiled before shutting the door.

She should be the most happiest agent ever for getting a nice agent like James assigned to her as roommate.

They are not the only one in the organization.

There are many more but they merely know themselves, but they do have a slang known to them only in order to identify each other though.

They were all scattered around the globe.

She opened the faucet and rinsed her mouth with some water.

She stepped out of her room and went to the living room.

James already dished out her food and placed it on the center table.

“Boiled potatoes?”she rolled her eyes while occupying the space beside him.

“Today is weekend, Katherine. Enjoy those sweet potatoes while watching a movie. Later, I will take you out on a date.”he ruffled her hair while munching on his hot potato.

She passed a playful glare to him.

“Promise?”she stretched out her finger.

“Pinky promise.”he chuckled, interlocking fingers with her.

She grinned before carrying her food.

“What’s the title of this one?”she pointed at the movie.

“The Night Stripper.”he replied.

She scoffed and shoved a potato in her mouth.

“Ahhhh.. it’s hot!”she cried out, spitting it out.

“You drank a steaming tea last night with no complain so why would a warm potato feels so hot in your mouth today?”James taunted. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

She slapped his arm and frowned.

“Today is different from yesterday. By the way, why didn’t you make any ketchup?. It would have been amazing to have that with these sweet things.”she puffed out angrily.

“Go prepare one for yourself then.”he huffs.

“I was about to call you a darling. I take my word back.”she rolled her eyes.

The doorbell on the door buzzed and she turned to it with a pout.

“Do you think Maverick has already caught up with me?”she asked James and he groaned.

“I know you are not reckless.”he replied.

She kicked his leg.

“Go get the door.”she ordered and he scoffed.

“You’re not expecting visitor, neither am I, so, just leave the person be.”

“I have conscience. I can’t do that.”she placed her food down on the table then sprang up.

“Besides, I think this should be the first time someone would be knocking on our door.”

James scoffed but then cachinnates.

“Second time. The landlady came over before when you almost sets the room on fire.”he rolled his eyes.

He was still keeping his eyes to the television.

“Ugh, that old woman is a bore. It was just a smoke but she had to escalate it into a big stuff. Hmph!”she walked to the door.

James paused the movie and went after her to check out the person too, out of curiosity.

Katherine unlocked the door and a petite girl’s face popped up.

“Hi! I am your new neighbor next door. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Freya, by the way. And, here, I brought you a treat!”she said enthusiastically and stretched a bowl filled with dumplings out to them.

Katherine brows perked up and she looked behind the pretty girl who just introduced herself as Freya.

She stared back at her and chuckled.

“I am Katherine.”she beamed and picked a dumpling from the bowl without actually collecting it from her.

She dropped it in her mouth.

Freya smiled broadly, making her eyes squinty.

Well, she’s got crescent eyes.

Kathrine scoffed slightly.

“Don’t smile too often.”she uttered sarcastically.

“Huh??, why??”Freya blinked her full lashes cutely.

“Nothing.”Katherine grinned.

“Alright, we appreciate you for bringing this to us. It’s time to go, miss Freya.”James collected the bowl from her.

“W-why?. I thought I would stay to watch movies with you guys.”she pouts.

“Well, no.. we don’t do that. We don’t watch movies. I’m sure you could go watch some in your apartment.”

“Well.. the electricity in my room got disconnected..”she itched the back of her neck.

“Then inform the house owner!”James scowled.

“I already did and she said she is going to get it fixed soon.”Freya sighed.

Kathrine sighed and folded her arms.

“Well, don’t mind this guy too much. You look innocent so he is afraid you might go blind if you come in. The guys has got dildos lying around in the room. He is a s$x god.”she lied.

James turned to her with a frown.

Freya eyes widened and she gulped down.

“Al.. alright. I guess I should go.”she cleared her throat and spun around.

“Enjoy your new home, Freya. And thanks for the dumplings, dear.”Katherine said before shutting the door loudly.

“Did you just lied against me?”James scoffed.

She snatched the dumplings from him.

“That girl looks like a dummy and that’s why she probably brought dumplings for us. She doesn’t know we always dump dummies!”Katherine scoffed while walking back to the couch.

“For Christ’s sake, Katherine! Can you quit playing on words?!”James plopped down on the chair.

Katherine chuckled.

“By the way, why didn’t you want to let her in?”

“I just don’t like having guests around. And, you?”he narrowed his gaze at her and she shrugged.

“I just kinda find her presence unsettling. By the way, who the hell still gives her neighbors food just to celebrate her packing into a new house?”

“That’s the trend these days, nineteenth century old grandma.”James rolled his eyes.

“Well, damn you!”Katherine flared up.

..

Maverick stared at his phone raptly.

He was watching the video his boys were recording as they are searching for the woman last night.

They are searching for her in the sauna currently.

They stripped the ladies’ dresses off them and Maverick gazed at them each, meticulously.

He shook his head and they moved on to another part in the sauna, getting the girls that looks similar to the drawing to doff out of their clothes.

Maverick shook his head repeatedly.

“Boss, we’ve searched all the sauna now. We would call you when we find any other similar ladies.”

He disconnected the video call and threw his phone at the wall in rage.

He has to find her!

He has to pay her back!
