Alpha’s Omega Mate

Chapter Twenty-five

Chapter Twenty-five: coming over

Audrey broke into tears immediately when she got to her room.

She was fed up with the way she was living.

Her life used to be the best. Stress free. Almost no nagging. More shopping. More dresses and more good.

But ever since Cassy met her mate and moved to the palace, her mother made sure to make every day a living hell for her.

Audrey dare not complain. She tried her best to ignore her mother’s cruel comments but they always ended up having an effect on her.

“Mother, please can you stop talking about this? I would surely find my mate some day,” she had said, nonchalantly.

She had been sitting on a chair facing the window while her mother sat on the bed.

Tabitha scoffed. “Some day? And when is that some day?”

Audrey had kept quiet, refusing to utter another word.

“You have to do something, my child,” Tabitha stated calmly, going to where she sat.

“What do I do, mother? Commit suicide just because my sister has found her mate?”

Tabitha exhaled and face palmed herself.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

“I do not know where you got this dumb brain of yours. Would you ever think in the right direction?”

Audrey exhaled and relaxed on the chair, closing her eyes.

“Wait for Alec to confirm if you are going to the palace– he doesn’t even have to confirm. It’s a must,” she spoke authoritatively, stroking her daughter’s hair lovingly. “and then, we would think of something.”

Audrey shifted away from her mother’s touch.

“What we? I do not understand what you mean,”

“Keep playing ignorant but have it in heart that I am going to eject you,” Tabitha had threatened before storming out of her room.

That day, Audrey wondered if her mother had something in mind.

And from that day onwards, whenever Tabitha nagged her she would want to ask what her plans were.

She did not have any interest in joining her mother but she was just curious.

Just curious and nothing else.

“Who knows? It would not be that bad if you can get something for yourself,” her wolf said.

Audrey shook her head to clear the thoughts entering her head.

No. She was not going to entertain such thoughts.

Just then, her mother barged into the room.

“What do you think you are doing? Crying again? You think crying would change anything?” Tabitha mocked, gesturing with her fingers.

“You have to listen to me my good child. Mother is doing this for your own good,” she spoke and went to her side. “why don’t you ask Alec what he wrote in the letter?”

Audrey kept quiet, refusing to reply to her mother.

Her thoughts were already in a jumble, listening to get her mother would only make it worse.

Tabitha spoke for the next few minutes, trying to convince Audrey to try to understand her and see things from her point of view but Audrey had her tongue tied.

Tabitha finally stood up after minutes of fruitless sermons.

“You know I never relent. I won’t stop until I get what I want,” she let out a sinister smile and squeezed her hand slightly before leaving.

Audrey exhaled though her lips after her mother left.

Tabitha stormed out of Audrey’s room, boiling with anger.

“That little rat, how could she be so disrespectful?” she complained angrily as she walked back to her bedchamber.

She had tried her best to persuade her daughter in different ways.

Calmly. Angrily. Condemnation. What has she not tried?

But still, she was still adamant claiming she could not do anything. Why did the moon goddess give her such a dumb lass as a child?

“My lady, try not to get too mad. I am afraid it would affect your health,” Lia, her handmaid told her, trying to assist her.

Tabitha released her hand from Lia’s pushing her away and causing her to stagger backwards.

“Seeing– thinking of that useless child sitting in the palace soon to be crowned Luna is enough for me to run mad!” her voice reverberated in the hallway.

“You have to calm down, my lady,” Lia said calmly as she pushed the door to the bed chambers open.

Tabitha pressed her fingers against her forehead.

“Have a seat, my lady. I would give you a massage,” Lia offered, putting out a stool for her to sit.

She began to massage her head, trying to calm Tabitha down.

“My lady, may I have your permission to mention something?” Lia quizzed, her fingers moved slowly on Tabitha’s head.

She continued when Tabitha hummed in reply.

“From what I have seen, I think you do not have to worry too much about young lady,” she said.

“What are you trying to say?”

“Young lady is beginning to have doubts and question herself. All I am trying to say is that it would not take a little while before she would yield,” she uttered in a low voice, careful not to allow anyone else hear them. “Once she is able to enter the palace and see the happenings she would need no one to tell her to heed to you.”

“Hmm,” Tabitha hummed. She had a smile on her face as she processed Lia’s words which made sense to her.

She exhaled. “With your words, Lia I have been able to calm down because I found truth in it. I cannot just wait for her to heed to me and then I can get rid of that useless lass just like I did to that bastard,” she let out a manic laughter which filled the large room.

“I am glad I have you by my side, Lia. I do not regret picking you.”

“It is my utmost pleasure to serve you, my lady,” she smiled, curtseying.

“I am in a great mood now!” Tabitha laughed heartily. “Let’s go shopping!”

“He loved walking around with his buttocks in the air with his little member swinging in the air as he ran around but now he is all grown up, taller than me. It’s still unbelievable,” Joanna chortled, brushing Cassy’s hair.

The both of them burst into laughter

It was a bright morning and the ladies seemed to be bright as well.

“It’s amazing how they grow so quickly. I could not recognise my cousin the last time I saw him,” she said in between laughs.

“You seem to feel better, Cassy,” Joanna remarked, looking at her reflection in the mirror.

She had came rushing to Cassy’s bedchamber after waking up late. She had presumed that Cassy would be really sad only to meet her trying to pick a dress for the day.

Cassy nodded, smiling. She seemed to be better after she slept the previous night.

Before she slept she had told herself to stop worrying herself too much and just accept things the way they are and surprisingly, she found peace in it.

“Perhaps, it is because I had a good night’s rest?” she chuckled.

Joanna smiled and dropped the brush on the table. She was done with her hair.

“I would get you breakfast now, Cassy,” she bowed and left.

Cassy smiled at the mirror, admiring Joanna’s talent.

The door opened and she came in with a tray in her hand and a letter in the other.

She placed the tray on the table in the room and invited Cassy to the table.

“A servant handed a letter to me on my way here,” Joanna informed her and dropped it in front of Cassy.

Cassy quickly took the paper and opened it.

„My precious daughter,

I’m glad you are doing well. I can now sleep with my two eyes closed and your mother can now rest.

Tabitha is still as nagging as ever.

Always nagging and bullying your sister.

My dead daughter, you mentioned you were bored, so I am sending Audrey over to keep you company. How is that?

Do well to visit us soon.

Your father.”

“What!?” Cassy exclaimed immediately she finished reading.

“My lady, is anything the matter?”

Audrey was coming over!?

No. This was not happening.
