Truth was, Nelly had the urge to kill Lara at some point. The thought of Donna having a high fever and raving gave Nelly the urge to make Lara disappear from the face of the earth. No parent could accept someone treating their child that way, including Nelly. However, her last shred of sanity prevented her from reacting rashly. Nelly knew Lara deserved to be punished, but death was not the answer. Most importantly, Lara was right about something. The three children could not have a murderer as a mother.
At that thought, Nelly subdued her desire to kill Lara. Yet, in order to vent her anger, Nelly could only torture Lara repeatedly. Every time Nelly watched Lara struggle in the water, the look of fear and helplessness on her face made her feel better. Just like that, the entire “game” lasted till midnight. Lara was in so much torture that she wanted to kill herself. However, Nelly did not give her the chance to do so. In the end, Lara started crying and begging for forgiveness. Soon, it got deeper into the night.
Nelly’s phone rang. Seeing Donna’s name on the screen, Nelly released Lara into the water and answered it. “Hello?”
“Nelly, when are you coming back?” Donna asked. “What’s up?”
“I miss you!”
Nelly’s heart melted at those words, and she beamed. “Okay. I’ll be right back.” “I’ll be waiting!” Donna responded, grinning. Evidently, she was feeling much better. “Okay!” Nelly hung up and put the phone away.
Realizing the woman in the water was on the brink of death, Nelly pulled her back up again. This time, Lara did not have the strength to struggle. Nelly tightened her grip around the rope and sailed the speedboat in a specific direction.
Meanwhile, a man was trapped in the water from another speedboat not far away. When he saw Nelly’s speedboat approaching, he called out excitedly, “H-Help me!”
Disgust flashed through Nelly’s eyes when she saw his face. However, he was not bothered by it and simply held onto Lara for support. In his mind, he had thought that someone was rescuing him. But when he saw Nelly using the same method to bring Lara over, he froze. When Nelly shoved Lara over, the man, Hans, was shocked. At the same time, he seemed to have understood something.
He merely looked at Nelly, unable to bring himself to say a word. Without uttering a word, Nelly started tying both Lara and Hans together. It was at that moment when Hans came to his senses and admitted, “Yes! That’s her! She’s the one who paid me and made me do that. It’s all her!” Nelly was unmoved. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
Lara looked up exhaustedly when she heard a man speaking beside her. The moment she spotted Hans, she had a bad feeling about it. With strenuous effort, she lifted her head and fixed her eyes on the person on the speedboat. “Nelly, what exactly are you trying to do? Why are you putting me with this man?”
“What do you think?” Nelly responded with a question. “You-”
Without waiting, Nelly raised her hand and checked the time. She then returned her gaze to them and stated coldly, “I hope someone finds you after two days, and I hope both of you will still be alive by then.” With that, she eyed them grimly and spun on her heels. Seeing her leave, Lara shouted with every last ounce of energy, “Come back, Nelly! Let me go! Nelly, come back! Nelly…”
All that shouting had used up her energy. She shouted so much that it made her cough. Despite that, Nelly never turned back. She leaped into another speedboat and sailed off.
Lara stared at the leaving speedboat in despair. Just you wait, Nelly! I’m going to get my revenge for what happened today!
As Nelly stepped on the shore, tied up the speedboat, and got into her car, a black car pulled over. Alpha Kilian alighted from the car and hurried over to Nelly.
