Nelly then continued to focus on the laptop screen, her eyes narrowed with determination. Although Tony had consoled her, the unsettling feeling of uncertainty lingered. The tension in the air was thick, a palpable mix of nervousness and fear. What if they were wrong? What if Donna was in danger?
Suddenly, a shrill ringing pierced through the uneasy silence. Tony’s phone came alive, disrupting the ominous atmosphere. It was Thalia calling him, her voice weary and strained. Tony glanced at Ben, his tension evident, and gave him a command.
“Stay here with Nelly,” he instructed, his tone laden with urgency.
Ben nodded, a silent promise to protect Nelly in his eyes.
Tony swiftly stepped out of the car and answered the call, his voice cautious. “Hello?”Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Where are you? Sam’s looking for you!” Thalia’s voice crackled with exhaustion. Tony furrowed his brow, his nerves on edge. He replied, his voice trembling with worry, “I’m busy now!”
“Busy? What are you busy with?” Thalia’s voice held a hint of confusion.
Tony hesitated for a moment, the weight of his words heavy on his tongue. “Donna is missing!” he finally admitted. Thalia’s disbelief rang through the phone as she exclaimed, “What? What do you mean Donna is missing?”
Tony quickly filled Thalia in on the details, the urgency in his voice reaching her ears. Thalia’s fatigue evaporated instantly, replaced by determination. “How could you not tell me when something like this happened?” she demanded.
Tony’s lips pressed into a thin line, his voice tinged with regret. “Well, my mom… I couldn’t even locate her yet. I didn’t want you to worry,” he confessed.
Thalia’s concern couldn’t be contained. She stood up, her voice resolute. “Even so, you should have told me! I can help, right? Give me your address now. I’m coming over!”
“I’ll send the location to you via WhatsApp!” Tony assured her.
“All right!” Thalia replied before hanging up. But just before the call ended, a thought struck her. “Hey! Are you guys wearing the watches I gave you?”
Tony was taken aback for a moment, and he immediately checked his wrist, his watch glimmering in the moonlight.
“Those watches come with GPS function. As long as she’s wearing it, you should be able to locate her no matter how weak the signal is. Besides, I remember linking the three of you together, so I think you’ll be able to find her through your watch. Have you tried that?” Thalia explained.
Tony’s eyes widened with realization. “I’ve forgotten about that! Good job, Thalia!”
A surge of excitement coursed through Tony’s veins. “I’ll check now! Thalia, if we find Donna, I’ll treat you like my sister from this day forward!” With that, he hung up, not waiting for Thalia’s response.
A thrill of hope sparked in his eyes as he turned back towards the car and climbed inside.
Once seated, Tony wasted no time. He hastily removed his watch and placed it in Nelly’s hands. “Nelly, try to locate Donna with this. Thalia gave each of us a watch, and they all have GPS functions. She linked our watches together, so if Donna is wearing hers, we should be able to find her!”
Nelly stared at him, her expression unreadable. Tony gave her a determined nod.
In the next moment, Nelly took the watch, her fingers moving with purpose. She deactivated the surveillance cameras, solely focused on tracking the signal emitted from Donna’s watch.
Tony and Ben sat on edge, their anticipation palpable.
As expected, the GPS indicator on the screen shifted and revealed Donna’s watch was nearby. “Donna is wearing her watch!” Nelly’s voice brimmed with excitement.
Tony and Ben shared a knowing look, their eyes shining with renewed hope.
“So, where is Donna?” Ben’s voice was filled with urgency.
Nelly remained silent, her gaze fixed on the information displayed on the laptop screen. After a few moments, she retrieved a map, tracing her finger on it.
“She’s at the back of the mountain!” Nelly announced.
“The back of the mountain? Does that mean we were searching in the right place? Donna is at the back of the mountain?” Tony’s voice quivered with a mix of relief and anticipation.
Nelly paid no heed to their questions. She closed the laptop with a determined snap and declared, “Let’s go!”
Tony and Ben nodded in unison, their determination mirrored in their eyes.
Nelly consulted her phone’s screen, leading the way towards the back of the mountain. Alpha Kilian had been searching for what felt like an eternity.
When Nelly and the kids arrived at their destination, Alpha Kilian was nowhere in sight. Instead, a few helicopters soared above, their blades slicing through the air. They knew these helicopters were sent by Alpha Kilian to aid in the search for Donna.
Though ignorant of how Alpha Kilian had come to know Donna’s whereabouts, they had an unshakable certainty. Everything pointed in this direction, affirming their belief that she must be there!
Nelly attempted to contact Alpha Kilian using her phone, only to be met with an unsettling absence of signal.
