Chapter 268
Chapter 268 It Happened for a Reason
“The patient fainted due to acute gastritis caused by gastric bleeding. I just gave her wound emergency
treatment. Fortunately, she came in time and the gastric blood did not flow back to other organs.
Otherwise, the consequences would be disastrous.
“Since the patient had gastric cancer before, why don’t you pay more attention as her family?
“Although her gastric cancer was benign and had been removed, the sequelae after the operation are
far more terrifying than gastric cancer.
“The patient has a high chance of suffering from life-long diseases such as myocarditis. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“And remember not to let her get emotional. It is very likely to irritate the previous wound. Once it
causes stomach bleeding again, even a god can’t save her!”
The doctor’s words, Malcolm and Donald looked down and blamed themselves.
Ever since the operation, Sienna had been under lots of discomfort.
Only then did they remember what kind of medicine Sienna had been taking.
It wasn’t until today that they learned that her condition was so serious.
And when Adrian heard that Sienna had stomach cancer and went through such a huge operation, he
was shocked and couldn’t move.
Being obviously frightened, he looked up in astonishment. He turned pale.
He felt like he was choking, not being able to make a sound.
Soon, Sienna was sent to the ICU, where she was on venous transfusion. She lay there. quietly and
pale.
Even her lips lost color. Malcolm and Donald were quietly by her side.
But Adrian returned to the company in a daze.
He regretted so much after knowing all the truth.
“Why didn’t I tell her my true feelings earlier?
In that way, maybe I wouldn’t misunderstand and I wouldn’t do so many ridiculous
things. But it’s too late now.”
Right now Sienna is lying in hospital, but he has no right to visit her anymore.
When Adrian was driving home, rain poured down.
Heavy raindrops fell on his cheeks. For a moment, he couldn’t tell whether it was rain or
tears.
He drove as if taking a reckless race. He was out of control and ran several red lights along the way,
putting himself in danger several times.
But the expression on his face was calm as usual, not showing a bit of his feelings. But
the tears on his cheeks seemed to have betrayed him.
The umbrella was on the co-pilot seat, but he didn’t use it, letting the rain soak his
clothes.
Adrian returned to the Olson manor and shut the door. He threw the soaked jacket on
the sofa and went to the bathroom.
The sound of splashing water echoed in the empty room.
He stayed in the shower for two full hours, until the water heater beeped, alarming lack of water. Then
he wrapped himself in a towel and walked out slowly.
He slumped on the couch. A whole day’s hard work and all these things made him
exhausted.
He wanted to close his eyes to rest, but his mind was full of the shadow of that person.
The night was silent as if the world had been dumped into darkness.
The rain water on the jacket and his wet hair kept dripping onto the leather couch.
He frowned at the touch of his cold skin.
The room was so quiet and deserted, which perfectly matched his mood at the moment.
For a long time, the room was silent and depressing.
Adrian lay there, constantly playing-back the moment when Sienna fainted and struggled to break free
from him.
