Chapter 40 Staring

On Monday, as soon as Leah arrived at the company, she received a call from Quentin.

"Don't forget that we have a meeting at my office today," he reminded her.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

Leah paused for a moment as she was about to put down her bag. Then, she sat down and raised an eyebrow.

"What's the rush? Are you so eager to see me that you can't even wait a moment?"

"Leah, you're getting more and more sharp-tongued."

"Where do you think I learned it from? You should say that to yourself."

Quentin seemed momentarily at a loss for words. After a brief pause, he replied, "In any case, don't forget our appointment."

With that, he hung up abruptly.

Leah scoffed, "Ugh, what a grumpy man."

At the same time, someone knocked on her door. "Miss Wilson, the car is ready. We should head to Worthington Group."

"Got it," Leah responded and took out the documents from the cabinet. She put them into her bag and then left her office. Although she and Quentin were at odds, she still had to talk with him about their business.

Soon, Leah and Layla arrived at the Worthington Group.

As soon as Eli saw Leah, he quickly came over to open the car door for her.

"Miss Wilson, please come this way."

Leah glanced at him. "So thoughtful. Did Quentin ask you to wait for me here?"

Eli nodded. "Yes, Miss Wilson."

Leah rolled her eyes. "Is Quentin so afraid that I won't show up? That's actually quite amusing."

Eli remained silent, bowing his head slightly as he gestured towards the door.

"Miss Wilson, this way, please."

"Alright," Leah responded casually and followed Eli toward the president's exclusive elevator.

Soon, they came to the top floor.

Eli knocked on the door. "Mr. Worthington, Miss Wilson is here."

Quentin's voice soon came from inside. "Come in."

Layla wanted to accompany Leah inside, but Eli blocked her.

"Are you Miss Wilson's assistant? Mr. Worthington has instructed that only Miss Wilson is allowed to go in. Please come with me to the lounge and have some coffee while you wait."

Layla didn't respond but looked at Leah.

"Miss Wilson?"

Leah waved her hand, "You go with him to the lounge. I'll handle this on my own."

It seemed like Quentin had something up his sleeve, but Leah was not one to be easily intimidated.

"Alright, Miss Wilson." Layla complied and turned to follow Eli to the lounge.

Leah entered Quentin's office as he happened to look up.

When he saw her looks, he couldn't help but pause.

Leah was dressed in a set of fitted black suit with a pencil skirt that highlighted her long legs. She wore pointed high heels and had her hair neatly tied into a ponytail. At this moment, Leah looked both

competent and elegant.

This was the first time Quentin had seen Leah in such an outfit.

For a moment, he felt an indescribable sensation, as if he were being drawn in and couldn't look away.

Sensing Quentin's gaze, Leah

chuckled and leaned against the desk. She stared directly into his dark, mesmerizing eyes and softly said, "You can't even take your eyes off me, can you? What's the matter? Do you regret our divorce and want to win my heart again?"

Quentin calmly looked away. "Don't flatter yourself."

Leah slowly straightened up, crossed her arms, and said coldly, "Rest assured. Even if you do want me back, I won't give you any chance."

Quentin pinched his brows. "Leah, we're here today to discuss cooperation. Let's not dwell on irrelevant matters."

Leah pulled out a chair and sat down across from him, crossing her legs leisurely. "Sure, let's get started then."
