Chapter 34
Chapter 34 Mr. Worthington's Request
Eli nodded slightly. "Alright, Mr. Worthington. I'll go do it right away."
Soon, Eli arrived at the law firm and explained his purpose to the receptionist.
After a brief pause, she responded, "Mr. Duncan mentioned just a while ago that he's been busy with a lawsuit for his good friend. He won't be available for any other cases. You can wait until he's free." Eli frowned. "But Mr. Worthington is in urgent need of his assistance. Can't Mr. Duncan spare even a day?"
"Mr. Duncan said this friend is very important to him. So, he specifically canceled all his other commitments for the sake of his good friend, and he's not available for anything else," the receptionist replied. Eli was growing anxious. "Could you at least tell me who Mr. Duncan's good friend is? I might be able to talk to them and work something out."
"How should I know?" The receptionist glanced at something and immediately said to Eli, "Oh, look. There she is. I've never seen Mr. Duncan smile at anyone like that before."
Eli followed the receptionist's gaze and saw Leah, and he instantly froze.
"Miss... Miss Wilson?"
The receptionist asked curiously, "Oh, you know Mr. Duncan's friend? Then you don't need to worry. Just talk to her. If she can ask Mr. Duncan to deal with your case, he will certainly agree."
Eli thought, "Sharon and Leah are fighting the same lawsuit. Since Leah has hired Archie, she would never give up the opportunity."
Eli knew he couldn't solve this matter, so he might as well go back and tell Quentin about the situation.
"No need, thank you," Eli replied and left quickly.
The receptionist watched him leave with a puzzled look.
"Just a moment ago, he seemed in such a hurry. But after meeting someone he knows, he didn't want to ask her for help. How strange."
Meanwhile, Leah, who had been invited over by Archie, saw a familiar figure.
"Eli?" She thought, "What is he doing here?"
Noticing Leah's bewilderment, Archie asked, "What's wrong?"
Leah snapped out of her thoughts. "It's nothing. I just saw someone I know."
Archie didn't

Leah chuckled softly. "It's your law firm, not mine. Why should I care?"
Archie laughed gently. "You, me, and Janet always share our stuff. What's the difference? If you want, this law firm can be yours, too."
Leah was moved by their unbreakable bond.

Archie smiled. "Yeah, I miss that girl too."
As they reached the reception desk, the receptionist stopped Archie and informed him about Eli's visit.
Archie frowned and said, "Mr. Worthington's assistant? I don't

involved in any lawsuits recently. Are you sure it's him?"
Before the receptionist could respond, Leah's voice rang out, laced with icy tones and a hint of mockery.
"It's not about the company. It's about Mr. Worthington's sweetheart."
