chapter 80 Watch a good show
Dennis' treatment could not be completed within a short period, so naturally, Olivia couldn't leave the capital city yet.
On this day, Xavier was free, so he took her around and bought her some daily necessities.
Olivia was a lazy person, so when she came, she only brought a few sets of clothes and her must- have daily necessities.
But she had yet to open the other suitcase.
Even though the matter didn't bother her, she yearned to be in Gerald's Medicine Valley.
Olivia didn't know how to tell Xavier about this, and while she was pondering, Xavier told her. "Let's return to the Si residence tonight to watch an entertaining show, shall we?"
Olivia immediately understood what Xavier meant.
"Can I take two days off after the show finishes?" Olivia smiled lazily.
Xavier raised his eyebrows. "Where are you going?"
Olivia shrugged. "I'm going to my master's place to catch up with him."
"Master?" Xavier frowned. "What master?"
"The brilliant doctor, Gerald Yao."
'The brilliant doctor' was Gerald's nickname, and almost every outsider knew him by that name.
However, he resided in Medicine Valley ten years ago, rarely appearing anymore. Even though rumors surrounding his legacy lived on, people barely spotted him anymore.
Xavier laughed. "So, you are the disciple who has learned everything and every skill he has and surpassed him?" © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Olivia raised her brow. "How do you know that?"
"Haha..." Xavier chuckled. "Years ago, I had the honor of being caught in a difficult situation with Mr. Yao, and we drank alcohol together. He mentioned that he had a stubborn, unfilial disciple. I didn't expect that he was talking about you!"
The public only knew that Gerald had vanished, but no one knew where he went. He kept his whereabouts a mystery, so even if he did not appear again, no one could do anything about it.
As for Zoey, she became famous after Gerald went into seclusion.
As it turned out, the timing between Zoey's appearance and Gerald's disappearance was not coincidental.
Olivia pouted. "That old man belittles me wherever he goes. He's such a horrible person!"
Xavier smiled." I don't think it's a disparagement. His eyes shine when he talks about you. It's apparent that he likes you as his apprentice and misses you very much."
Olivia rubbed her nose and said nothing.
When the two arrived at the Si residence, Zachary had already got a feast ready to give Olivia a warm welcome. After Olivia had eaten and drank enough, he shamelessly asked Olivia for the ointment she applied on his wound last time, saying that a friend of his had been gravely wounded two days ago. As they had a good relationship, Zachary wanted to use the opportunity to send his friend a gift.
Even though Zachary made himself sound selfless, Olivia knew from his words that the so-called friend was definitely in a profitable relationship with the Si Family, especially with Zachary.
Although the Si Family was at the top of the affluent family list in the capital city, it didn't mean they could do anything they wanted. The Si Family would still have to maintain an amicable relationship with other parties and send gifts to others when the occasion required them to do so.
Olivia didn't hesitate, selling the ointment to Zachary based on the mates' rate she offered him.
Her carefree attitude made it seem like the ointment was cheap street stall goods.
Meanwhile, Zachary had experienced the wonders of the ointment himself, so he didn't dare to treat it like an inexpensive item.
Not only that, he also specially wrapped it in expensive paper and placed it in a box that was more expensive than the ointment.
The ointment radiated a high-end aura after Zachary was done.
Olivia caressed her chin, thinking that she would have to package her ointment and pills exquisitely if she were to sell them in the future.
And that she wouldn't be soft-hearted, stating a lower price when it came to dealing business with the rich in the future.
A strange scent wafted into Olivia's nostrils when she arrived at Dennis' room.
Dennis was currently soaked in the medicinal concoction while Yaron stood aside dutifully.
Olivia strode to the tub and grabbed Timothy's hands, who was massaging Dennis. "What are you doing?"
Timothy was startled and wanted to resist instinctively, but after seeing that it was Olivia, he suppressed his urge to fight and said with a confused expression. "Dr. Xue, I-I'm helping old Mr. Si to relax and soothe his muscles."
The confident tone of his voice and the impeccable reason he gave made it hard for others to retort him.
Olivia sneered and gripped his wrist hard. "Oh? Do you need to hide a needle in your hand while relaxing his muscles?"
As soon as Olivia finished speaking, the needle in Timothy's hand fell to the ground.
Xavier stepped forward gracefully and picked up the needle. He scrutinized it, chuckling with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "The tip of the needle is black. Oh, Timothy. You're so loyal to your boss!"
Timothy panicked and began to struggle hard. However, Olivia was powerful. He was no match for Olivia, even if he was a former combat artist.
Unable to break away, Timothy could only suppress his urge to flee. "Mr. Xavier, I shall not hide the truth from you. I picked up the medicinal concoction with this needle instead of using it to inject old Mr. Si. The medicinal concoction turned the tip of my needle black. This means that it is poisonous!"
He wanted to hit Olivia as he spoke. "Are you here to save or harm him? The Si Family trusted you, paying you with such a handsome sum to proceed with this treatment. But what did you do to old Mr. Si?"
Timothy looked at Xavier and Zachary sternly. "Mr. Zachary, Mr. Xavier, I've been learning medical skills since old Mr. Si fell sick because I want to help him regain consciousness. Too bad I didn't learn enough to be helpful. I thought old Mr. Si would be saved after Zoey Xue showed up, but…"
He gritted his teeth. "I took the medicine she gave me to the Pharmacist Association, where I studied and presented it to the elders. They told me those pills were poisonous. Although the person will not be killed immediately by the poison, the harmful substances will slowly seep and absorb into old Mr. Si's blood. Even if he wakes up, his body condition will change. Without these medicines to sustain him, he will die at any time."
"And even with the medicine, old Mr. Si will not live for more than a month." Timothy glared at Olivia. "What's your true motive in doing this? He is not your enemy! Why do you have to harm him?"
After saying that, his body swayed, wanting to fight with Olivia.
However, as soon as he moved, Olivia threw him over her shoulder and pinned him to the ground. Then she raised the needle and injected it into Timothy, controlling his movements and making it impossible for Timothy to escape.
"Timothy, Dad treats you so kindly. Why did you do this to him?" Xavier stood aside and asked coldly.
Timothy refused to admit his mistake. "Mr. Xavier, I don't know what you are talking about. I am loyal to him. But you are different. He was so nice to you. You weren't respectful to him when he was healthy, and now that he was ill, you brought a woman over to harm him. Are you doing this because of old Mr. Si's testament and for the Si Family's assets?"
Zachary mused, "Timothy is right. Dad's testament stated that most of the Si Family's assets will go to Xavier once he is gone. If Dad dies now, then the biggest beneficiary will be Xavier!"
His eyes darkened, and he began to play dumb. "Xavier, Timothy, w-what is going on?"
Olivia remained silent. It was time for Xavier to perform, and she only had to observe the scene from the side quietly.
"Timothy, you tried so hard to keep your true colors hidden. Yet, all of your deception and lies are useless before the angelic Dr. Xue."
Xavier didn't waste any time and directly called Yelena over.
Yelena walked up and kicked Timothy hard. She scolded, "You ungrateful shit! You want to kill my dad even though he treats you like a brother!"
