chapter 78 Just, that’s not the case, right?
Xavier had obviously informed Madeline about what Olivia liked to eat, for out of the four dishes she prepared, three were spicy.
Olivia, who hadn't eaten for two days, wolfed down once she dug in.
Even though Xavier's cooking skill was superb, he wasn't into spicy food, and he had no habit of adding spices to the dishes he made. Therefore, although his cuisine was tasty, it was less flavorful and delicious than Madeline's lavish spread, which was more to Olivia's appetite.
Olivia's movements were still elegant and poise even as she gulped a big mouthful of food down her throat. She was not as cautious and pretentious as the ladies from rich families but more carefree.
Madeline couldn't help but smile satisfyingly when she saw the look of contentment on Olivia's face.
Olivia felt alive by the time she was done eating.
"Mrs. Si, does my cooking suit your taste?" Madeline asked cautiously when Olivia put down her chopsticks.
Olivia nodded. "Madeline, you're a great cook! I greatly enjoyed the meal!"
Olivia smiled when she noticed Madeline's happiness while cleaning the table.
It was already three o'clock in the afternoon. Olivia did not go to the Si residence to find Xavier. Instead, she took a taxi to a remote alley.
After getting out of the car, she put on her baseball cap. Then, she zigzagged through the road and into an alley before finally pushing open an inconspicuous iron door and walking in.
Everyone knew that Xuanlan Attic, the largest intelligence organization in the country, was located in the capital city.
But only a few people were aware that Xuanlan Attic was actually in this seemingly inconspicuous corner.
Olivia swiped her card at the entrance and went upstairs directly, bumping into a familiar yet foreign figure.
The other party kept staring at her while Olivia peered at him. She recalled that she had disguised herself before coming over, so she left without acknowledging the other person.
But she could feel the other person's eyes glued on her until the elevator door closed.
"Who was that?" The man frowned and asked the young man who led him.
The young man shook his head. "I'm only acquaintance with most of the seniors from the fourth floor down, and those from the fourth floor upward are the big shots!"
In other words, the young man had no idea who Olivia was. However, she should be one of those big shots if she had free access to Xuanlan Attic.
Hector Bai was immersed in his task when Olivia arrived at the top floor and knocked on the door.
When he heard the knocking sound, he thought it was the assistant. Hector flung the file at his "assistant," instructing, "Shred this document for me, and send the person who accepted this order to me. The higher-ups has already told us not to expose these people's information anymore, so how dare they still accept this order?"
Olivia picked up the file casually, flipping through the pages. A sharpness glinted in her eyes. "The people who asked for these information are the insiders. They refused to let others investigate their
background, and then went to check others' information secretly. They are so hypocritical!"
She threw the file on the table, voicing, "This kind of order should be rejected by the system. Not only shouldn't it be accepted, but we should also stop them from creating this order."
As soon as Olivia finished her words, Hector suddenly raised his head, stared at Olvia and became dumbfounded. "You... You…”
"X? When did you arrive in the capital city? Why didn't you tell me?" Hector stood up excitedly, joyfully gazing at Olivia. "Those people that were looking for you kept bugging me after you stopped taking orders. Especially…”
Hector paused, unsure whether to continue or not.
Olivia patted Hector on the shoulder and said with a smile, "There is another matter that I want you to handle for me."
Hector frowned cautiously. Olivia leaned in, whispering into his ear. Then, she walked over to Hector's laptop casually and sat before it. Olivia voiced, "I shall thank you in advance for your help. By the way, let me use your laptop. I need to search for something."
"Did she show up just to use my laptop and assign annoying tasks to me?" Hector thought. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Olivia quickly started working on the laptop. After about ten minutes, she exited the system and said with a stern face, "Trouble is brewing in the capital city recently. You guys have to be careful. Do not meddle in the affairs concerning the four prominent families."
"Is this her way of repaying me for what I've done for her?"
Hector became alert, too.
