Chapter 20: Beat Her Back
Wendy’s expression suddenly changed. When Jenny, who was sitting by the window, saw her, a perfect smile appeared on her face. “Are you surprised to see me?”
“Why are you……”
“Mr. Gavyn, he invites me here.” Jenny smiled as she glanced at Rex, who was standing behind Wendy. “Rex, right?”
Rex?
She called him so intimately.
Wendy’s heart hurt, but Rex frowned slightly and felt a chill envelop his entire body. He hated this form of address very much.
“I asked her to come here.”
Rex said in a low voice as he pulled out a chair and sat down, ignoring Wendy’s shock.
Wendy’s heart sank. Since he had invited Jenny, why did he still ask her?
She would rather eat egg pancakes on the street than eat with Jenny!
The steak had been ordered in advance. Wendy only focused on eating while Jenny had been talking about some business matters with Rex.
Wendy couldn’t say anything, so she poked the steak in front of her with the fork.
Humph, what was so great about it?
“Wendy? Wendy?”
Wendy looked up in confusion and saw Jenny looking at her. She smiled and said, “Haha, it’s funny. It turns out that my university was next to Rex’s university.”
“…… Hehe.”
Wendy smiled awkwardly before lowering her head to continue eating.
A ruthless look flitted across Jenny’s eyes. Wendy really made her the hard way.
Rex saw all of this, and his dark eyes were bottomless. After they finished their meal, Jenny even took advantage of the opportunity to hold Rex’s hand!
Wendy’s brows furrowed, and she resisted the urge to rush forward and push her away.
” Miss Walters, I have something to discuss with you today,” Rex said coldly.
Jenny smiled sweetly. “Hmm? What are you looking for me for?”
“This…… I’m sure Miss Walters is no stranger to this.” Rex suddenly took out a room card and placed it in front of Jenny.
Jenny’s eyes widened.
Even Wendy was stunned by those words.
“This is……” Wendy turned her head to the side.
This was the room card that Jenny had given her back then!
Wendy grew nervous, and Jenny’s expression changed. However, she remained calm. “What is this? I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?” Rex snorted and narrowed his eyes. His gaze was sharp as a knife.
Jenny hurriedly waved her hand. “I’m really……”
“Jenny!” Rex frowned. The side of his face, which was as sharp as a blade, tensed up as he stretched out his hand to cover Wendy’s.
Wendy felt the warmth of his palm, and her heart skipped a beat. She turned to look at Rex.
Rex’s jaw tightened, and his tone was cold as if he had come from hell. “You’d better admit it, or else……”
Rex didn’t finish his sentence, but Jenny’s face was already as pale as a ghost.
Wendy’s hand was wrapped tightly around Rex’s, and her heart was thumping loudly.
Jenny looked down. She didn’t dare to oppose Rex, so she had to tell him everything.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Tears rolled down the corner of her eyes. Rex glanced at her coldly, and his gaze landed on Wendy’s lowered head.
There was still a red mark on her forehead.
“She hit you?” Rex’s voice was cold and gruesome.
Wendy looked up at Jenny and finally nodded. “Yes.”
“Beat her back!” Rex ordered Wendy in a deep voice.
“Mr. Gavyn!” Jenny looked at him in disbelief.
Even Wendy looked up at Rex in shock.
Rex looked steadily forward and gently touched the light pink scar on her smooth forehead with his fingertips. “Beat her back in the same way she slapped you.”
