Chapter 12
Jayden’s POV
still fuming in anger, I throw the office door open to enter when I see someone inside sitting comfortably on the chair opposite my desk.
Without a word, I stride in. When I close the door behind me, I know instantly that it is no other person than Gabriel. “How the hell did you get in here?!” I growl at him as I walk to my chair.
He chuckles lightly, leaning over and dropping the phone he was pressing. “You weren't picking your calls.”
I really don't want anyone else to piss me off today. First, it was Anna, then Juliet and Isabella, and now Gabriel.
How will I pick up his call when he humiliated me in front of that bitch? He didn't stand up for me but he laughed just lik his wife did, making me feel stupid.
Gabriel is so childish!
“I said how did you get in here?” I question again, glaring coldly at him.
“Well, Anna let me in’, he leans backward, the smile off his face. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading th novel on . Visit to read the complete chapters for free. He knows that I am angry with him. This is why he is here. I refused to pick up his calls when he kept calling nonstop last night. I didn’t even care to listen to what h wanted to say, I didn't care.
something clicks in me. Did Gabriel just call my new secretary Anna?
Even though I really do not wish to speak with him, I want to know how he got to know about Anna so quickly.
“You know Anna?”
He raises a brow in surprise. “You don't know her?”
Instead of answering him, I scowl at him and ignore him. Picking up my laptop, I open it, even though I know I can't work with Gabriel's presence here. I just want him to know that his presence here isn't needed and I am still mad at him for wh he did to me at the club.
I hate his playfulness. It irks me a lot.
“Don't tell me you don't know Anna’, he remarks dryly. I still ignore him. “How then did she become your Assistant?”
why did Anna let him in in the first place without my permission? Is she one of his whores?
“She told me you fired your former Assistant.”
“Why are you here, Gabriel?” I snap at him in irritation.
His face falls. “Well, I came to apologize for what I did back there at the club. I didn’t mean to upset you."
“But you did”, I interrupt him again. “Is that all?”
Amusement spread through his expression. “Am I forgiven?”
“No, get out!”
“What?” He laughs, sitting upright. Gabriel never takes any of my orders seriously and I wonder why because at this moment, I really meant what I told him. 1 want him out. I need to work. “I came here with a gift for you. To make up for wr happened at the club.”
“l am not interested in whatever gift you came with, so leave’, I growl again, lowering my head down and glancing throug file absent-mindedly with my laptop on.
“Come on, it's someone you will like”
Gabriel won't go until I take the stupid gift he brought for me or I tell him he is forgiven. I just wish he didn't come during work hours.
Sighing in frustration, I gaze up. “What is it? I need to get back to work”, my voice is still a bit raised.
“I brought a new girl for you”, he grins broadly. “he is waiting downstairs and she is the exact type of girl you will love... I shake my head at his silliness. When I gave him a chance to help, he didn't. I relied so much on his help to get a girl but he misused it and now that I have found someone, he is here presenting me with his so-called my-type-of-girl.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“What do you know about my type of girl?" I demand with a serious look on my face.
Does he even know the types of girls I want? If he does, he wouldn't introduce that shameless girl to me.
“Of course, 1 do. Someone like Helena. Reserved. Quiet. In fact, she is a church goer’, he begins to laugh just like he did a the club.
I am not saying anything. Just watching and waiting patiently for him to sober up before asking him out.
Sometimes, I wonder how Gabriel is succeeding in his Telecommunication Firm. I also wonder how his wife copes with hir but after seeing the drama at the club, I knew they are birds of a feather.
They just got married six months ago and I have only met her on two occasions; the day he introduced her to me which w brief and on the wedding day which I attended for just an hour before leaving for Boston that same day for a business conference.
He is sober and is surprised to see me with a straight face.
I rise from the chair and walk to the door. “When next you visit me during working hours, I will not only stop picking up your calls but I will also cut ties with you.”
A frown touches his lips and he knows I am damn serious with my threat. He stands up and picks up his phone from the desk.
He twirls back to face me squarely, clearing his throat and looking serious now. “I'm sorry but what about the girl? I knew was urgent, that was why I brought her here..”
“I don't need a girl anymore so please leave.” I cut him short, impatient for him to leave.
“You don't need.” he trails off when I throw him an angry stare. He moves closer to me.
“Are you still mad at me?” He asks me with a light smile on his face. A kind of smile that can make me forgive him within minutes. He is the only one who can offend me and I will forgive him within minutes.
He is naughty but a good friend. We have come a long way and I have on several occasions threatened to cut ties with hin just to make sure he does my bidding.
He is the only friend I have and he understands me better than anyone else. More than my parents. He is just so annoyin sometimes and I can't help but shout at him.
“Nope', I utter firmly, with my face devoid of emotions.
“Have you gotten someone already?” He inquires, with a curious look on his face.
I place my hand calmly on his back and push him out of the door before replying to him. “Yes, I am getting married to isabella”
“Isabella?” His eyes grow wide in shock. “Your former Assistant? I thought you fired her?”
“Yes, Isabella, my former Assistant is the girl 1 got and the girl I am going to be married to in two weeks” I inform, pushing him further away from the door.
Without waiting for any more reaction from him, I slam the door shut in his face.
