A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 65 Blocking

“I mentioned to my brother that when he and Shannon get married, to save an extra invitation for me so I can give it to you,” Holly mentioned with a sly smile.

“And when the time comes, and you’re still in Kurima, you must have a drink at the wedding.”

Ranita didn’t pay much attention to Holly’s words and immediately blocked her.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Holly awaited Ranita’s response with satisfaction, but her smirk faded as she realized she had been blocked!

Blocked by Ranita?! Holly double-checked multiple times, her anger nearly driving her to throw her phone.

“Holly, what’s bothering you?” Shannon reached out and held her hand, her concern evident.

“It’s all because of that witch, Ranita!” Holly grumbled angrily, glancing at Brendon on the phone in the distance. She turned to Shannon and inquired, “Have you picked out a gift with my brother?”

“We have! Did you find something as well?”

Brendon had come over to deliver a custom-made pipe as a birthday present for Chris’ grandfather. Since he was already there, Shannon and Holly had decided to choose some accessories, not just rings, as Holly had initially suggested.

Holly’s primary goal was to exact revenge on Ranita.

“Hmph! That witch has made me so mad that I don’t even feel like shopping!” Holly vented her frustrations. “Can you believe she blocked me?”

Shannon smiled and said, “I understand that you were trying to protect me. But if it upsets you, then I’ll be unhappy too.”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

After a brief pause, Shannon grinned and whispered, “And besides, now that you’re the majority shareholder at TranslateAble Studio, it should be easy to teach her a lesson.”

“You’re absolutely right! She won’t be able to outsmart me!” Holly’s mood brightened as she realized her newfound power.

Ranita had blocked Holly in the heat of the moment, and while it felt satisfying at the time, she now regretted her impulsiveness. Holly could post whatever she wanted, and Ranita had to ignore it. She couldn’t keep avoiding Holly forever, especially since Holly was now a shareholder in their studio.

Suddenly, Ranita’s phone rang, displaying an incoming call from Carl.

“Hello?” Ranita answered.

“Ranita…” Carl hesitated for a moment before speaking. But there was no point in saying anything now; Ranita furrowed her brow and suppressed her discomfort. “What’s up?”

Carl didn’t expect Ranita to be so calm.

But compared to calmness, he would have preferred it if she were angry or asking him questions rather than making him feel so small.

When they had initially started their business together, Ranita had provided the initial funding. But he was repaying her like this…

“I’m sorry,” Carl apologized.

“No need to apologize,” Ranita replied with determination. “Just don’t call me again.”

Some friendships naturally fade over time; however, she never expected it to end like this with Carl.

She no longer wanted to understand the benefits Holly had provided them or why they had done what they did. It was pointless trying to understand something that had already happened.

“If you have time later,” Ranita said in a cold tone, cutting off any further discussion on the matter, “come by and pick up your things.”

She looked down at the picture frame on her desk that had once held a photo of all three of them, smiling happily together at an industry conference when they were just starting out as young entrepreneurs full of hope and dreams for their future success.

Ranita carefully took down the photo frame and placed it in a drawer before adding softly, “I wish both of you the best.”
