Chapter 35
Chapter 35
A bolt of lightning split the dark blue sky. Almost as if the lightning had struck her, the crown resting atop her head fell to the ground It started raining. The crowd had slowly dispersed and Sienna looked as if she had her soul sucked out of her body. Staring at Jace who was walking away from her without even a backward glance, Sienna felt despair.
The man who had always shielded her from all danger had finally left her.
Sienna had finally regretted her decision to break up with Jace. She had finally realized the price she had to pay for all her bad and impulsive decisions throughout the three years that she had spent abroad.
The chaotic wedding ceremony had finally come to an end in the heavy rain.
Even though the guests did not get to witness the happy and perfect wedding that they had come to see, they managed to watch a good show and felt that the entire thing had been worth their time.
The Yuriel family was not badly affected as they had desperately wished for the wedding to be canceled. Thus, as long as Jace did not marry Sienna, they were fine with almost any outcome. They too could not be bothered with what other people were going to say or think.
Besides, Sage had returned, and to them, this was something worthy of celebration.
The Zelda family, on the other hand, was feeling restless and dismayed. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
After witnessing Sienna’s public humiliation with the numerous “interruptions”, the Zelda family was humiliated.
“This is absurd! Pure absurdity! We pride ourselves on being an honorable and respectable family! Why did you turn out this way? People are going to talk! How do you expect me and your mom to face others?”
Fuming with rage, Sienna’s father was pacing back and forth furiously in the study room as he scolded his daughter.
Sitting by the bed, Sienna who was still dressed in her wedding dress was crying her eyes out. A large part of her gown was stained with mud- just like how Jace’s impression of her had been tainted.
“There, there, cut it out now. This is not Sienna’s fault.” Sienna’s mother tried to calm her husband.
Sienna’s father scoffed and said, “It’s all because of you pampering her! I shouldn’t have listened to you and invested so much into this daughter of yours! All this money and we didn’t even manage to marry her off into a wealthy family! What a waste of all my money!”
Sienna’s mother was enraged by his criticisms. “So, you’re putting the blame on me? Did I force you to do all those things? This is all because of that dearest sister of yours! She was the one who was always going on about marrying into a wealthy family. Luna is clearly a bad influence on Sienna!”
“Enough!” Sienna yelled and covered her ears. “I’m already feeling bad enough. Could you both please just stop arguing?”
Sienna’s father was about to say something when he received a call from Luna Zelda.
“It’s your aunt.”
After a simple exchange with his sister, Sienna’s father passed the phone to Sienna. Still weeping, Sienna greeted her aunt. On the other end of the phone was a lazy but stem voice, “Cut the sobbing. Just a small setback and you’re defeated already? Are you already thinking of giving up?”
“What else am I supposed to do?” Sienna said in despair. “He blames me for lying to him, and he thinks I’m dirty and tainted now. H e will not take me back.”
Luna simply scoffed and replied, “All these don’t matter. As long as you’re able to hold his heart in your hands, you don’t have to worry about him walking away from you.” .
“Aunt, what should I do now?” Sienna was completely lost. She used to have Jace in the palm of her hands, but now, he was slowly getting away from her. It felt like she was losing him for good.
“Calm down now. Jace must still be angry. You can explain yourself once he’s calmed down. And as for that ex-wife of his, Sage Luz, we have underestimated her. Don’t worry dearest, I will make them pay for what happened today.”
