Chapter 45 The Abhorrent Act
Stella obviously recognized Diane’s voice, but she just lay on her bed glaring at Dianne.
“What are you doing here?! You’re not welcomed here! Leave now!”
Since her mum wasn’t there, she chose not to hide her hatred against Diane.
However, Diane continued to walk towards her bed before staring at and scrutinizing her.
Stella was not in a good shape. Her hair was messy, and her face was pale and ill-looking; she looked
like she had just given birth—to be exact, she looked more like someone who just had a miscarriage.
Where is her child then?
“Stella, what have you done to your child? To your own flesh and blood?” Diane looked through the
room then lay her eyes onto Stella’s face, staring at her.
“It’s none of your business!” Stella’s eyebrows furrowed as she scowled upon Diane interrogation.
Hearing that, Diane sneered sardonically, “It’s none of my business? I thought… the child was gone
because of me?”
Since Stella said that this had nothing to do with her, it was possible that something fishy was going on.
“Stella, let’s be honest, did you cause the miscarriage yourself on purpose?” Diane stepped two steps
closer to the bed, reaching closer to Stella, her gaze scanning like an x-ray.
“Norman went to jail, so your petty dream of becoming the CEO’s wife was also ruthlessly crushed. Not
to mention, his family originates the suburban area, so they must have zero connections to hold upon
to in this city… I guess that’s why you refuse to have his child now, am I right? If so, you’re the one who
caused the miscarriage on your own, and it has nothing to do with me.”
These were all Diane’s assumptions, and she let it all out into Stella’s face.
When Stella heard that, her pale face paled even more, and she then scowled while staring at Diane
with a fiercely piercing look. “Don’t you dare accuse me of murdering my own child! My child is gone
because you stirred up my anger and caused my baby to be born prematurely.”
Diane let loose a slight smirk as Stella refused to admit it. It was okay; she could wait.
“I heard from one of your co-workers in the management department that they drove you to the hospital
that day. I assume they must be remember which hospital it is… Well, well, I guess I should be
checking on it then, what do you say?”
The colour quickly drained from Stella’s face as if someone blew a handful of dust on it. A cold wave
embalmed her as her face was glooming of despair.
The day she was sent to the hospital, she remembered calling her friend to pick her up in front of her
co-workers. After that, she insisted her co-workers to leave.
Those co-workers had no idea what her maternity results was, but the hospital had her records filed.
Once investigated, they would all know that she didn’t even went to that hospital to have herself
checked.
She had all those ‘acts’ happening in the company just to make sure the accusations made toward
Diane was solid by having people witnessing them quarreling. She indeed felt uncomfortable that day,
and if Elizabeth asked, she would have her co-workers as witnesses. In that way, it should leave
Elizabeth with no doubts of her statement!
She did all of that just to let Elizabeth see and get riled up to the point she would go and assault Diane
for her.
Who on earth would have known that Diane managed to see through her deceit?!
But! Who cared if she did? It was her own womb, her own child, and she was the one who bore its life.
She had the right to end it and kill it with her own bare hands even if the baby got to survive after the
labour! As Stella thought to herself, the anxious and nerve wrecking feelings disappeared right away.
She sneered at Diane, “What do you think you’re doing? Questioning my morals, huh? Well, alright,
even if you got me to admit that I’m the one who cause the miscarriage on my own, so what? So
what?!” Stella had an intimidating look on her face as she glared at Diane with ridicule.
“I gotta say, the reason why I initially dated Norman was due to his looks. I mean, besides that, he’s
had potential and his annual salary as a CEO was basically above par of those other stupid men
outside. So, I decided to be with him. But now, as you can see, he’s locked up in jail, and his CEO
position was immediately off the table right after. I can’t benefit from him anymore, so why should I
continue to bear his child? Am I right? Come on, if you were me, would you?”
“The questions you’re asking me right now are completely meaningless. To a guy who betrayed me, of
course I wouldn’t. But the problem is, he didn’t betray you,” Diane replied.
“Betray? Hahahaha…” Stella laughed hysterically.
“Can loyalty feed our tummies? Cut it out, Diane, stop pretending like you’re so kind-hearted and
whatsoever. There’s no doubt you can leave any cynical remarks all you want because you have
Christopher on your side! That’s it, you better stop asking me questions. I mean… even if I tell you
everything, there’s nothing you can do! You’re right, I’m the one who killed my own child, and I’m also
the one who purposely incite the conflicts between you and that old hag so as to cause you trouble! So
what?! Is causing a miscarriage illegal? Is instigating someone illegal? Christopher can never kill me
even he wishes to!” Stella raised her voice louder and louder, as if she had nothing to lose.
This kind of woman… was indeed disgusting and wicked. How cold-hearted could she be to murder her
own premature baby?
Diane felt nothing but sorrow as she pitied the loss of that innocent child for having to die in its own
mother’s hands. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
After a moment of silence, she asked, “Stella, are your parents aware of you stealing someone else’s
husband, and also killing your own child?”
Stella’s parents were highly educated, hence she refused to believe that Stella would speak of the truth
regarding this type of matter.
She must’ve had her way to explain the abhorrent act of her with Norman to her parents. Although
Diane was unaware how, she was convinced that Stella must’ve lied to them about the child as well.
Diane could not bear to miss out on any trace of reactions on Stella’s face as she stared at her
consistently after asking the question.
To her expectations, Stella’s gloating and smugness expression cracked a little, and her gaze went
unsettling.
Diane then understood promptly of her reactions. She didn’t wait long for Stella to respond as she
continued, “It seems like to me that you’re not speaking of the truth to them either. Well, I guess that so.
Considering the fact that you parents seemed like civilized people, I wouldn’t expect them to allow their
daughter to do these kinds of abhorrent acts anyway. That’s fine. I can help you to confess to them if
you like.”
With that, Diane immediately turned around and went out of the door.
“Stop right there, Diane!”
Panicking at once, Stella couldn’t help but anxiously crawl out of her bed. However, Diane ignored her
and went straight into the kitchen whereby Mrs. Mayfair was prepping a nutritious broth for her
daughter.
“Mrs. Mayfair.” By the moment Diane called out for her, Stella had already come running toward them.
When Mrs. Mayfair turned around and found Stella out of her bed, she was in shock as she quickly
exclaimed, “Stella, why did you get down from your bed?! Quickly go back and rest! This is also like a
mini confinement; you shouldn’t take it so lightly!”
Mrs. Mayfair squealed anxiously.
Diane couldn’t bear to tell her, but she did eventually.
“Mrs. Mayfair, I’m Norman’s ex-wife.”
“Ex-wife?” Mrs. Mayfair instantly diverted her gaze towards her.
At that moment, Stella pounced on Diane. “Diane, what are you blabbering about! Get out! This is my
house, and I say, get out!”
She tried to push Diane out but she was undeniably too weak to do that, even when Diane was just
standing right there not exerting any energy.
“You know that I’m not blabbering. You two were already hooking up even when Norman was still my
legally husband. Now that he’s your husband and that he ended up in jail, you don’t want his child
anymore, so you did a miscarriage on your own, killing your almost readily born child! Stella, I believed
that your parents are not as heartless as you are. So, I must let them know about this.” Diane looked at
Mrs. Mayfair as she spoke.
At once, colour drained from Mrs. Mayfair’s graceful face, leaving only pale and disbelief.
“Stella, is it true? I thought you said that Norman was single? Why would he have a wife? Stella, what
have you done?!”
