A Billionaire’s Ruse

The Contract

“Can you just imagine how shocked I must have been to find you humping that bitch of all people?”

I stared at the heaving Emily and shrugged. I picked up an apple slice from the table and bit into it, “Hmmn… this i’s juicy. You wanna try it” I said passing the plate to her.

“You don’t want it. That’s too bad, bacause they are really really juicy.” I said wiping my fingers clean.

I threw the used towel on the table and looked up lazily at Emily, “Actually, we both have to be faithful to each other. I will not tolerate any form of unfaithfulness. I promise you, that I’ll also be faithful.

“And moreover, this is not up to you. You have to sign that documents, either tonight or tonight. I’m running out of oatienxe..” I said, smiling at her.

Emily’s POV

Looking at Alex smile from ear to ear really got me frightened. Why do I trust him to keep his word about signing the document?

I remember my dad had wanted us to sign a pre nuptial agreement but I had been against it and Alex had shared the same opinion as mine.

If we had signed those agreements then, my dad would have had an upper hand in this situation. But the agreement coming from Alex himself means that he has an upper hand.

My family has suffered too much of a blow for me to be selfish.

I would have to quit working

I would have to be at his beck and call.

I would have to become a woman I never thought of becoming

But I would also be giving my father the chance to save his company.

I would have to trust my dad to make good use of this opportunity to take over the company back.

“Why are you no longer asking for the 30% of the company shares?”

“I already have 45%. I would love to see how your dad makes good use of this window to salvage the company.” Alex said standing up. He started pacing the room, with his hands in his pocket.

“Emily, this agreement is dependent on how happy you make me.” Alex said moving towards me.

I’ve had enough of this torture for one night.

“Please, don’t come any closer.” I begged standing up.

He stopped and I heaved a sigh of relief. Sitting down, I gestures for him to sit too. He smiled at me and sat down also.

“I want to add my own conditions to these conditions listed here.” I told him.

He looked at me for a few seconds before he nodded his head to give me the go ahead. But then he raised his hand,

“I will be okay with whatever you say as long as it does not contradict or affect the conditions written in there.”

“I just want a way out for my father’s company.” I replied to him.

“We’ll be needing a witness also.” I reminded him.

“You don’t trust me?” He questioned.

“Yes, I don’t trust you Alex-io.” I’ve been doing my best to avoid saying his name because I’m still not used with his obsession of what I call him.

He just smirked at me and brought out his phone and dialed a number.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

“You can come in now.”

Not long after he dropped the call, there was a knock on the door and Damon came into the room, along with Jim.

I know Jim. He is a family friend and he was an associate at the law firm my dad works with. He was the lawyer that was in charge of Edwards case four years ago. After the case ended, he resigned from his work and I have not seen him again till now

What’s he doing here? What has he got to do with Alex? I looked at him trying to get his attention but he avoided my gaze entirely.

“There will be some additions to the contract. I want you to note them down and add it to the prior agreement. Damon, you will be a witness alongside Jim.” Alex informed them, then he turned to me.

“I believe that is okay by you also Emily?”

I was still surprised by Jim’s presence to be attentive to Alex.

“Emily… Emily.”

“Yes… What? Did yo byu say something?”

“Yes, I actually did. I just asked if it is okay by you that Jim and Damon will be our witness tonight?”

“Yes, it’s okay.” I said

“Good. Jim take down her extra conditions for the contract.” Alex instructed.

Jim brought out his pad and he was ready to start taking down whatever I had to say.

“I will be adding one thing to the aforementioned agreement.” I said to Jim.

“I have to be given a prior notice before you ask me to go on either an event or a business trip or whatever with you. I refuse to be used.” I said looking straight at Alex.

“You have to calm the shareholders down. The rumours about my family and the company started with you and so I believe you should take the lead in calming the shareholders.

“Also, my mum’s birthday is coming up next week. I want you to use that opportunity to stabilize the company and deter from doing anything that will make it go down again.” I said, sounding satisfied but Alex just started laughing.

“Princess, those are no… Those are okay. It’s fine.”

Why do I feel like I am a child and Alex as an adult is being understanding? O whaatever.

“Jim, you are the lawyer. Do what you’re supposed to do and let’s out down our signature and call it a night, uh?”

Jim was done and he stood up to place the pad in front of Alex to sign. Alex took it up and signed it without even looking at it.

It was brought before me also and I just want to go throught it one more time.
