My Gentle Wife is a Real Divine Being CHAPTER 862
Erica groaned, “Too bad.”
Debra glanced at the rearview mirror, puzzled.
“That’s strange.”
“What is it?”
“Didn’t we already pass this road?”
“We did.”
“Then why are we on it again?”
“We were being tailed earlier.”
“That Rolls–Royce Phantom?”
“Yes.”
“Looks like Randy’s car.‘
Debra teased, squinting at him, “You’re not planning to kidnap me, are you?”
Marion took one hand off the steering wheel and pinched her nose.
“More than that. I want to tie you to my side and never let you leave.”
Debra blushed at the unexpected sweet words. “You never used to say things like this. Who- knew you had it in you?”
“Darling, I only say these things to you,” Marion protested, feigning hurt.
Debra laughed at his expression.
After a two–hour drive, they finally reached a secluded mountain area. Debra saw an electronic iron gate at the mountain’s halfway point, which opened automatically as their car approached.
Marion drove confidently up the mountain, and the fresh air seemed to wash away all their
weariness.
Debra took a deep breath as Marion opened the sunroof. The sky was darkening, and when they stopped by the roadside, she looked out the window to see a scattering of stars.
Marion opened the car door for her, and she stepped out, taking in the sight before her. There stood a courtyard. Different from a luxurious city mansion, it had a small bridge over a stream, a barbecue area, a vegetable garden, and flowers. It was everything Debra had ever wanted.
Marion had hung lanterns all around, making the night feel warm and cozy.
“When did you prepare all this?” Debra asked, amazed.
“I’ve been planning it for a while, but I haven’t had the chance to bring you here yet,” he replied.
Debra walked inside and saw a large lake with a newly built wooden boat on it. The moonlight reflected off the lake’s surface, creating a tranquil atmosphere.
This place had no scheming or darkness. It was just a warm, loving home. She could imagine spending the rest of her life there. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“Debra, will you marry me?” Marion asked solemnly.
He had wanted to bring her here for a long time, but Caleb had insisted on a grand engagement party, so he hadn’t been able to propose to her the way he wanted.
The engagement party was for the public to see, and this was his real proposal to Debra. He wanted to declare his love for her to the world, but he only wanted to hear her whispers of love in private.
